Q: How long have you been in business?
A: En Avant Studio was started in the fall of 1980! This year we are celebrating 32 years!
Q: When can I enroll?
A: En Avant Studio accepts students year-round (except at the school year's end).
Q: At what age may students begin?
A: Students enrolling between August and May must be 3 years of age by September 1 of that current school year. Summer students must be 3 years of age by May 31. All students must be potty-trained (exception made for special-needs students.) Mommy and Me is available for children 2-3 years of age.
Q: My child has a disability. Can they still participate?
A: ABSOLUTELY! Our teachers have many years of experience teaching dance to children with both physical and mental special-needs, including Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome, Proteus Syndrome and Dyslexia, to name a few. We strive to help each and every student that comes through our doors learn and enjoy dance to the best of their ability. Note: Although we offer a special-needs class, many times we integrate special-needs students into the regular classes. Please contact the office for recommendations based on your child's age and abilities.
Q: What are your rates?
A: Registration Fees for the school year begin at $25, with discounts for additional family members, as well as for early registrations. Summer registration is $10 a student. Tuition during the school year begins at just $40/month, with discounts available for additional classes and additional family members. Summer rates begin at $15/week, with discounts available for multiple classes (same student).
Q: How do you offer such incredible, affordable rates?
A: We strive to make dance affordable for all people wanting to learn. We are family-owned and operated and all of our facilities and properties are paid in full.
Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located at 2525 Porter Rd, between Franz and Morton Ranch, across from Mason Creek Hike and Bike Park. Visit our Location page for door to door directions.
Q: How do I enroll?
A: Print the registration forms from the website (or contact the office to receive them by mail) and mail the completed forms with your check to En Avant Studio, PO Box 1259, Katy, TX 77492. Or call the office (281-391-7779) to schedule a time to come by.
Q: What performance opportunities do you offer?
A: Students have the opportunity to perform throughout the year, including at the annual Christmas Parties, Spring Performance and End-of-Summer Performance. Other opportunities may include performing at local nursing homes, as well as participating in at least one local parade each year.
Q: Do we have to participate in the Spring Performance?
A: Participation in the annual Spring Performance is expected of all students, but you may opt-out (deadlines apply. See registration information.)
Q: Do you offer classes for homeschoolers?
A: Yes, we have offered daytime classes for homeschoolers for 20 years! Homeschoolers may attend the Wednesday morning homeschool classes or any of the evening classes, according to their schedule. All students learn the same curriculum, regardless of whether they come during the day or in the evening. P.E. is the only class that is only available on Wednesday mornings.
Q: How do I receive free tuition?
A: It's easy! Refer a friend, then remind them to list you as their reference on their registration form. You will receive one month's tuition free - regardless of how many classes you're enrolled in. Free tuition only applies during the school year and is not applicable during the summer.
Q: Can I watch a class first, before enrolling?
A: We believe once you try it, you'll love it and want to sign up! So, although we don't allow observers in the classrooms, you are welcome to try a class for free, no obligations. Just let us know when you want to come and we'll be looking for you! Free trial classes apply only during the school year and are not available during the summer.
